Just experienced my first problems with the board.. Still investigating , as I type this on my backup lappy...

Installed the system, no problems... the only thing was, the Asus iPanel I have also didn't seem to work right..
So, I decided I really didn't need it, and removed it from the sytem.

Well, to make it short and sweet.. I booted the system up again, after that.. and no Secondary IDE devices upon auto detect..

Go into the bios to make sure its set on "Auto".. as they were.. resetted the CMOS... tried to manually select "CDROM" mode as well..
The drives are powered up, and the green lights flash, access, and then prepare for the boot process..
Even changed out the ATA 100 cable with a new one..

Did the Asus iPanel fubar my secondary IDE port? 🙁

*Update*

Updated BIOS to the newest revision..

Swapped IDE cables around.. placed my optical devices that where on the Secondary Port to the Primary Port.. and put my hard drives on the Secondary port..

Result.. both CD and CDR drives auto detect fine on the primary ide port, but then again, secodary ide port is nil..

Looks like my secondary ide connection is fuct
