asus p4s333 no video

😕Newbie needs help. I built my first system and am having problems getting graphic cards to work. I have a pny (verto mx 440-se 64 mb) pci graphics card and a mad dog (predator mx 440 8x agp graphics card) that don't work on the motherboard. I am currently using the pci card in another computer so I know it works. Any and all help is appreciated. Maybe suggestions on what graphic card to use.
System
Asus p4s333 motherboard
1.8 ghz pentium 4
256 mb Kingston pc 2100 ram
ge force 200 pci video card 32 mb

I'm going to guess that the motherboard isn't square inside the case. When this happens, as you tighten down the set screw, the agp card pops out of the agp slot just enough to cause bad contact. Just a guess, but often true. Try leaving the card loose in the slot, and see if it will post. You can also take out all the standoff screws, and gradually install them one by one until the problem appears again.

Thanks for the suggestion. I should have mentioned that a 8 mb graphics card works in the agp slot. But not the 64 mb card. I am using windows 98 right now. Does 98 support a 64 mb card??

What do you mean by "don't work on the motherboard"?

Does the system not POST when those cards are installed? Do you hear any beeps? Does it POST with the 8MB AGP and the 64MB PCI cards both installed?

Oh and I've use 7500's and GF2 MX400's in builds with that MB (can't remember if I ever tried a MX440 with one though).

The monitor acts like there is no signal coming from the tower. With the 32mb pci card that I also have or the 8mb graphics card I get a display on the monitor and everything works fine. The 32mb pci card is slow when I play C&C Generals otherwise it would be ok.
