My friend has an older system but is running a P4 2.53 with 2 sticks of 512 Corsair PC3200 C2 in an Asus P4PE MB and when he tries to play LOTR Battle for Middle Earth the system reboots when he's trying to start a level. I tried to make everything stock speeds with the lowest RAM settings and it still reboots when he tries to start a level to play. The system works fine with 1 stick in there. I was wondering if anyone knew what was going on. I'm stumped. I know it's an old board and so couldn't really get too much from a search. Heard the board isn't too stable with 2 sticks of RAM, is this the problem? Or maybe flashing to the latest BIOs? Anyone has any ideas? Thanks

try putting the 2 sticks into slot 1 and 3 rather than next to each other. Also try flashing his bios to the newest.

my friend said he wasn't even able to put the ram into slot 3, i thought that it wasn't allowed to put double sided ram into the 3rd slot. he said he already did flash to the latest bios and it still doesn't work. any other ideas? could it be that the ram isnt matched so he's having problems? any other ideas?
