After reading and searching these forums extensively, I have ordered the following parts
from Newegg to build a machine which will mostly be used for video editing. I have
experience building two previous AMD based computers with Win 98, but have never
used WinXP nor tried any overclocking. I have cruised the boards here and at
asusboards.com, but remain uncertain about some things. I would appreciate any advice
about setting it up.

I have a few specific questions.

Eventually I want to add a third hard drive and dedicate it to storing an image
of my system HD so I can backup and restore if necessary. Can I simply connect this to
the IDE RAID connector and use it as a stand alone non raid HD? Or, do I have to set up
a RAID 0 array with only one drive? The mobo manual does not address this.

Once things are up and running and prove stable, I would like to try some- not too
aggressive-oc?ing. I do not want to risk frying my processor.

Will I need an aftermarket HSF to do any useful OC? If so, what is recommended considering that I will not accept the use of a high output LOUD fan.

Does the use of the onboard audio limit the oc potential?

Where can I find a step by step approach of how to oc this specific mobo?

How much of a bump in speed can I expect oc?ing without taking any seriuos risk?

Thanks,

John
