NewEgg price on this board is finally down to $163 shipped. I have tried 2 SIS648 boards and was very unimpressed. Poor overclockability- I have an I845G Epox 4G4A+ and it is a super board.

Anyone have any thougths on this board and the I845PE.

In my opinion, i845PE boards are superior to SiS 648 boards. If ya want RAID then get the GIGABYTE GA-8PE667 ULTRA motherboard ($146 at NewEgg). And if ya don't need RAID then get the Albatron PX845PEV PRO motherboard ($95 at newEgg.com). Both have crazy overclocking features.

I've got the Gigabyte 8PE667 Ultra and I'm very happy with it. It's very stable and overclocks like a dream. The only problem I have with it is that it sometimes hangs on reboots when the core voltage is high. I had that problem on my MSI 845 Ultra, so I assume it's whatever the reason that one was doing it.

Also, the only problem you may run into with the board is trying to run 2 sticks of RAM together at DDR333. I believe the board will NOT run that. I got the board anyway because I only run 1 stick of DDR333.

I just installed one replacing my POS Epox 4BDA (2nd one) and it overclocks great. I have my P4 1.6@2.4 (150Mhz FSB) and 512mb Samsung PC2700 @ 400Mhz DDR (2.5,2,2,5,turbo).
