Hi, just wondering if anyone owns this mobo? ASUS P4PE-BP If you do, can you give me some feedback on what you think of it. Any known issues that would steer you away from purchasing it? I have a friend who is a big time gamer and would like to steer him this way, I have done some reading on what this mobo offers and am going to tell him to purchase it tomorrow unless I get alot of negative feedback. So, please fire away.....
 
i bought the p4pe/l for a lot cheaper then the black pearl edition. perosnally if i wer eyou i woudl by the mid range p4pe (i forgot the end part) instead of the black pearl and save some money. there was a review of it a few weeks ago but i unfotunately forgot where i read it.
 
Black Pearl is sexy - but lacks some necessities for me - Firewire, LAN, SATA, and RAID. It's a good board but when you have to add in all those things . . ???
 
Okay, so which mobo would you recommend in the Asus lineup? Must be capable of speeds up to at least 3.0 ghz and be good for gaming. He will be running a TI4200 vid card.
 
well if you don' tneed sata or firewire, or gigabit ethernet go for the asus p4pe/l. if you need those othe rthings for for the higher end asus p4pe.
