Asus P4PE boards COLD BOOT problems

Anyone having this cold boot problem.. when u boot the computer first time of the day it shows nothing on u'r screen (there is power) and u have to reset it or turn the power off and on again.. then it will work.. but it's auto jump into the bios and u have to reset u'r cpu speed again. any solutions? I already updated the bios version but still does this.....

This problem seems to be more common with antec power supplies. But I would try a tiny boost in cpu voltage. Some asus boards have a cpu voltage boost jumper, that increases the voltage by .1 volts, just enough to ensure more reliable booting when overclocking.

I have an enermax 350w power supply... and asus boards does add some extra little voltage to u'r cpu even u didn't set it.. or do any overclocking.....

Try reseating your ATX power cable. That has been a typical cold boot fix over at asusboards.com

I had one of these boards with the 'cold boot problem'. I would have to unplug then replug the power cord to get it to boot. And it was hit and miss. It would cold boot 10 times with no problem, then lock up 2 or 3 times in a row. I think it's a capacitor problem so there is no hope of correcting it with a bios upgrade.

Anyway, I RMA'd that board and my replacement mobo is fine.
