I have an earlier ASUS P4P800 with the Intel 865PE chipset. When I put a new Prescott 3.2E processor in, the motherboard was reporting the chip as a 3.2GHz - 3200 MHz processor but was running it at the incorrect multiplier of 14 instead of the correct multiplier of 16 for a speed of 2.8 GHz - 2800 MHz which was wrong. This is with BIOS version 1019 - v1019. I googled and found someone with a P4C - P4C800 - has the Intel 875P chipset - with the same problem. He tried the 1017 BIOS revision and it finally got the multiplier correct. I tried both BIOS versions v1018 and v1017 and version 1017 did the trick. I'm posting this so that the search spiders pick it up and maybe it'll help someone else. Thanks.
