I just got a new HDD, a seagate 250 gig ide drive at CompUSA for $60.

I want to make sure that I am able to get more than 137 Gig after formatting the drive.

I'm trying to find out if I have the correct Bios installed, and if not what # do I need.

I would prefer not to use Beta versions if possible.

Can I format the new drive as a slave, using the system files that are on my current drive, which are updated to SP2, since my XP CD did not come with SP1?

Then change the cabling on the drives to reverse master & slave and install Xp on the new drive.

All ASUS models released after January 2003 will support 48-bit LBA in their initial BIOS. P4P800 SE was introduced mid-2004. 48-bit LBA won't be a problem with any BIOS for this board. I would update to the latest non-BETA version to get all other improvements added, though.
