Asus P4P800-E Dlx boot problem....

I bought this motherboard from someone in the FS/FT section. I had a simlar based system that was based on an 875P board that I pulled the hard drive out and put it in this new system.

The strange thing is that even though the bios sees both hard drives and optical drive, the primary master drive does not boot by itself. But when I select the drive in the boot menu, it boots to XP no problem.

I got the same board..... is the boot order set to 2nd? (After floppy)..... Never know, you might have forgotten that.

I have the order set as this:

1 Floppy
2 Hard Drive
3 IDE CD
4 SCSI

Strange. Your harddrive is Master on the PRI_IDE right?

Well, I think I might have it set to Cable Select, Ill have to look and change it. But in the CMOS, it see that drive as a PriMaste.r
