Asus P4P800-E BIOS 1002 and Windows SP2

I have read most of the articles concerning the problem with the Prescott microdiode, but I had the latest BIOS (1002) installed and still had a "blue error screen" when I installed SP2. I had to totally reinstall windows XP Pro. I ran the Intell Processor ID utility and it doesn't list my processor "type" it has the "stepping" at 3 and the "revision" at 7, neither are compatable for a successfull update to SP2 according to all the articles I've read. Has anyone else encountered this problem? I can't afford to try again unless there are some suggestions to my issue. Thanks for any help!
