Do I need 2 sticks of Ram to take advantage of the dual channel ddr feature? Currently I have one 512mb pc3200 stick.
Is there anyway to disable the sata but keep the ide controllers enabled? I use scsi currenty but need ide for my cd burner.

Mucho Gracias

yes you need 2 stick for dcddr ~ the board will run with only 1 stick in scddr mode

yes you can disable sata and use the IDEs

There isn't special memory needed to use the dual channel feature is there?

Got any documentation or can you provide quick menu run through for disabling the sata. I dug all through the bios. I must have missed it. I will look again tonight.

Thanks for the info I appreciate it.

any pc2100 (or better) DDR memory will do

in bios:
onboard ata device = disabled
onboard ata device first = no

🙂

I don't see those options.
Under Advanced, Chip Configuration, I see OnBoard PCI IDE which I have set to both. Options are: Both, Primary, Secondary, Disabled.

I can find no settings for sata.
