Just bought myself (2) new Raptor SATA Hd's & my system will not boot to CDROM (without another IDE disk installed) with them installed - just says - PRESS A KEY TO REBOOT..........

Ive tried everything i can think of - including reading the manual!!!!!!!!!! & reseting CMOS.........

Anybody know anything about it????? All i want to do is install XP - on a single drive or a raid (at this point i dont really care which!!)

ok bios updated....

anyway i cant install winXP on to a RAID array ive setup

the cd now loads & tells me he cant detect a HD & therefore setup must exit........?!?!? The drives are detected and formated - under windows xp fine - just does seem that the windows install prog cant detect them...

Thugsrock -
onboard ata device = enabled
onboard ata device 1st = yes

DONE therefore i think you need more than one ? after - try ???????????????????? 🙂

Ahhh... you have to hit f6 in the beginnin g of the Windows setup and load the SATA driver from a floppy, that is why it cannot find the SATA.
