I'm considering purchasing this mobo, and was wanting some feedback from all of you. I'm going to build a 3.0C system. Any boards that are better?

Bumped your own post, funny stuff. Anyways, P4C800-E is prolly the best one out so far. If you are willing to spend $200 for a mobo, go for it..

I hate to bump, it just seems people never go anywhere but page 1 to respond to anything. Thanks for the feedback.

I am generally a huge Asus fan, but this board is trying my patience (P4C800-E). I still get random reboots, freezes and assorted error messages. I have not given up yet, but am a little disappointed in the lack of stability.:frown:

I am using Corsair 3200LL and it was working fine in my P4C800 Deluxe, which this board replaced.

Updated the BIOS last night (1009), updates seem to be coming pretty fast for this one, I've only had the board about a week and 2 revisions to the BIOS already. It does seem better, still getting some Explorer error reports.

I just changed the timing on the Corsair, read somewhere of a problem with settings on the 875 chipset. So far, so good.

I was also thinking of getting this board and read some sprinkled reports of probs with the non -E board and ATI video cards. I have a 9500pro tweaked to 9700 and wanted to keep my video card. So anyone know if it's ok with the P4C800-E board?

What kind of rig do you have for the ASUS P4C800 E.

fix your ram...im sure thats why.

Modempower was exactly correct, it appears that my LL Corsair decided to go TU, I swapped out the memory, have not had an error or lockup since.

I have a 3.0C, 2 Raptors in a RAID O array and a 9800Pro ATI vid card.

I read your post in the Latest Mobo Info Thread and the reason you aren't getting any feedback is your question. Is it better for what? All (top tier) canterwoods and springdales are about the same with the exceptions of different features (gigalan/ide raid etc.). As far as problems with the different boards browse through the Official board threads to see whats happening. The P4C800-E should be fine and probably no better than the P4p800 Deluxe which cost $60 less depending on what you need it for. Every question that you will ask has probably been answered already. Since the P4C800-E came a day late and a dollar more you will probably not get a whole lot of responses on that specific board. For the most part it has already been decided that the springdale boards are the boards to buy unless there is a feature you just absolutely need that isn't on a springdale board.

Edit: After reading my post it seemed a little harsh. What I am saying is most of your post have been asking what the best is. If there were a best everyone one have it . Most choices are made by personal preferences, brand loyalty, needed features, and some just want to be able to say they have the highest price stuff even though it may not be the best performing. I am sure half of the people with raptors, canterwood boards, and 3.0Cs will never do anything that needs that power. Similar to people with SUVs that don't have kids, haul lumber, or go off road. It is a status symbol. You have the ability to say you are on the cutting edge.
All the boards seem to have the same minor problems. I too am learning and I find it much more efficient to search for my answers in reviews and threads instead of waiting for a reply. Since all the boards have similar performance find one with the feature set you need, buy it, and then when you run into problems ask questions. After searching of course.
