I have two WD Raptors on the ICH5-R in RAID which is operating normally. I have a 40 Gig Maxtor installed on the native IDE connector and the BIOS refuses to recognize it. Doesn't matter if the drive jumper is set to Cable Select or Master, the drive goes un-recognized.
In BIOS i have IDE Configuration set to SATA, Enhanced, RAID-Yes, RAID Boot BIOS enabled. I tried setting IDE Config. to P-ATA/S-ATA and it made no difference. I tried an Abit SATA Serielle Adapter and connected it to the Promise Controller with IDE enabled/RAID Boot BIOS disabled and no luck there either.
Any ideas???
