Hey everyone! Over the weekend, I put together my new rig, which consists of an Asus P4C800-E Deluxe motherboard (flashed to 1011 b2 BIOS), a 3.0GHz C P4, 2GB PC3200 Crucial, ATi AIW 9700 Pro, etc etc...

I have only two cards in my system...just the Audigy 2 Platinum and the ATi. Now, I installed my Windows XP, SP1, and the basic motherboard drivers and such. Now, it gets tricky when I try to put my Audigy 2 into play...I am able to install the drivers off my CDROM just fine, no issues. However, when I go to Creative's website to update the drivers via the Web, it hardlocks the system. Also, when I manually download the drivers and attempt to install them, it hardlocks the machine then as well.

I'm just wondering if anyone else has encountered any issues with this combination. My Audigy is in PCI slot 3, also tried PCI slot 2. Is there possibly an issue with the i875 chipset? Do I need to break out my trustworthy Turtle Beach Santa Cruz?

Other system specs:
---------------------------
HyperThreading enabled
MPS: 1.1 (what does MPS version mean anyways 1.1-1.4???)
PCI latency: 64
PnP OS: yes
Catalyst 3.6's installed

I think that should be about it...I should mention that my Mixman Studio and Cakewalk programs don't open...I don't know if it's an Audigy/sound issue or what? Also, I have tried installing the drivers/update with HyperThreading disabled, just in case it was a SMP issue. I also gave Creative an email with lots of details to see if they can help me out. However, I think most of us know how good Creative is at that kind of stuff.

As for the rest of the computer, it's lightning fast. Everything loads nearly instantly when I click on it. It's also very stable and rock-solid. I would like to update my audio drivers because I can't open the Control Panel for my EAX settings...I can get to the main part that allows me to adjust the bass and treble, but any farther than that and it hardlocks the system.

Thanks in advance!
