I am thinking of upgrading my Asus P4B533-E motherboard, to the latest BIOS to support my 2.4 proc's Hyperthreading ability. I was wondering what other's experiences were. Do you have to enable anything in the BIOS after you upgrade? Is there an across the board advantage of Hyperthreading?

yeah i dont think intel has started to even produce hyperthreading cpus at lower speeds yet....besides they would go to 2.8 and 2.66 first when/if implemented i would assume

you are maybe just seeing the wcpuid shot, where it says hyper threading technology but its disabled or something right?
in this case, the bridges to enable ht are physically there, just not connected to each other to allow the feature
its teh same story as the multilplier and how its locked, the bridges to enable all mults are present in all p4's but intel burns out specific bridges according to the cpu's mult

I GOT SERIOUSLY MISLEAD BY THE $%^ & DEALER I BOUGHT IT FROM. too bad, I should have done more homework, I was too excited to have cash to buy new components. He said the 2.4 had hyperthreading when I asked him. Is it only the 3.0 that has HT? 😱
