Hey guys,
I've been under a rock for a long time since I had some troubles with a P4 1.6A. I haven't touched this mobo in a while, and I've since sold the cpu because it needed to be rmad. At any rate, I decided I shouldn't let this thing sit idle, but I have not paid one iota of attention to all the cpu advances as of late.

Basically, what I'm asking is what cpu do you recommend for an Asus P4B266? (I have ddr2100)
I am interested in oc'ing, but not necessarily. What options do I have now, and what's the best cpu for this board?

Also, is it worth using ASIII or should I just use the retail goop?

Thanks in advance for your help and time,

Graham

Any Northwood P4 will work fine, it's hard to recommend you one in particular without knowing your budget... :)

If you want to overclock, you'll be limited by your ram (probably around 150FSB), so I wouldn't get a "B" CPU (133x4 FSB) unless it's a high-clocked chip to start with, like a 2.66B. If you don't want to spend too much, I'd get a 1.8A (100x4 FSB), and run it as high as it'll go. (2.5-2.7 is what I'd expect)
