I recently built a P4 1.6A system using this board and am very happy so far. Except that I recently purchased a VisionTek GeForce4 Ti 4600 and could only get it to work after installing and removing a Geforce 3 based card, and if I changed the clock settings the card was not recognized. This sucks has anyone else had such problems.

What FSBs are you running at? You can try to lock your PCI/AGP speeds by using the Turbo 1 option under chip configuration.

Turbo 1 supposedly locks your AGP/PCI buses at spec. I assume then that Normal does not, while Turbo 2 is still a mystery.

Actually, nobody really knows for sure what the settings do. Several people have sent emails to Asus asking about it, but they do not reply. Only 1 person has ever said they tested it and that guy had 8 posts under him.

I can't remember what site it was on, [ H ]ard maybe, but someone used an Oscilloscope to measure PCI frequency running Turbo1 , and it was said to run at 36Mhz, so AGP was at 72Mhz. 72MHZ is out of spec, but should be fine for 95% of video cards. Turbo2 has been said to run PCI/AGP slightly higher than Turbo1, but I've never seen any real numbers. The Normal setting just scales the PCI/AGP speeds along side the FSB speed, and if you run a FSB of 140-160, AGP would probably be pretty high.

That person's name was "ase" or "ace" and he had 8 posts total ever under his name. Would you take 1 person's word for it that had 8 posts?

I traded the visiontek card for a pny ti 4400 and it works great even at 145mhz fsb. So maybe the ti4600 I bought was bad only time will tell
