ASUS P4B266 and Bios ver 1005 problem

After flashing bios to 1005, my system can't even post at FSB above 110mhz.
Does anyone have this problem?

were you bumping up the voltage before?? It seemed I had to increase my vcore a little as well. My gripe is NO TEMP READING (that ain't stuck at 40' celcius).

My cpu doesn't need much more Vcore to overclock. It's just 1005 bios not allowing FSB overclocking of more than 110mhz.
Yes, I also have temp reading problem. Stuck at 40C. And the keyboard start up doesn't work, either.
ASUS must take care of those stuff right away.

Do the issues mentioned above (overclocking, temp, etc.) still stand with Bios 1005 on the P4B266? Did anyone install 1005 and not have the problems mentioned above? I would like to install it because I've been having problems with WinXP rebooting on shutdown. I've reinstalled twice over the weekend and "repaired" WinXP once the other night. In all occassions, the reboot-on-shutdown was fixed upon re-installation/repair, then came back after I installed some stuff. The stuff I refer to are:

- Windows Updates -- I think the UPS power supply patch specifically
- Last night, I installed Dazzle DV-80/MGI Videowave and voila, on shutdown, it rebooted.

I'm hoping Bios 1005 will help fix the reboot-on-shutdown problem. If not, then, I guess I'll keep re-installing WinXP every time the problem recurs. 🙁

I just got my P4b266 up and running on Wednesday with 1005 BIOS. The problem with temperature still seems to exist, but I have no shutdown/reboot problem. Also, fwiw, I did a quick FSB adjustment to 133 and found the system benchmarked at 2.6g with seemingly no problems.

I'm using v1005 on my P4B266 and have my FSB at 150MHz with the 1.6a - temp sensor is still stuck at 40c and I'm not using keyboard power-up so I'm not in the know on that issue. Not having any shutdown or cold boot probs - running like a champ so far 😀

Is the stuck temperature reading due to the 1005 bios? My P4B266 came with the 1005 bios and my readings are fine.

Check your temps in the bios when you first start up, they will read 40 c for the CPU. It is an Asus prob they still have not fixed.
