Asus P3V4X Jumper settings

Hi All,
I'm upgrading my aging PII 333 with a PIII 866 or 850. How do I set the jumpers for this? The asus manual stops listing at 733. Do I just use the 'jumper-free' settings? I dont feel too comfortable using 'jumper-free' but I'll do it if thats the only option.

I used the jumper free method when I owned a P3V4X. I don't even know why jumpers (switches in Asus boards) are even used anymore, the CPU will over-ride any jumper setting for multiplier.

Actually, I think the Jumper-free is safer than the switches. If you select an FSB too high, the MB simply won't start and put you back to the Advanced BIOS settings at default (usually 66 MHz). That's the route I'd recommend you start with, and you may have to bump up your voltage a tad to get where you want to go.
The 850s are all 100 MHz FSB I believe, so you may want to start there and work incrementally upwards to see what your chip can do. Overclockerz.com has a comprehensive listing of chips and how fast folks have made them run, along with what batch clocks best. You can use that to help you select what chip you want to buy, then there are lots of folks here who can direct you to someone who will sell you the right week, Malay, batch # etc, spec chip that should overclock best. For more options, there are lots of 815E MB on the market very reasonably priced now, that will help you get where you want to go.
