Asus P3V4X -- flashed to 1005 successfully and now I have no power

Hopefully someone here can give me an idea what has gone wrong.

I just flashed an Asus P3V4X from version 1001 to 1005 successfully. I received the standard "You have flashed the EPROM, turn off the power, go to SETUP, Enter BIOS defaults..." message indicating that everything went A-ok.

I powered down -- when I powered back up, the fans turn on, the drives spin up and after about 3 seconds the machine powers off (no error messages, beeps, video, etc -- doesn't get that far). I can't say that I've ever seen anything like this happen before.

I checked all the cables and connections to the mobo (even though I didn't open the box, ya never know).

I've fried bios's in the past (never on an ATX machine though) -- is this what happens when an ATX bios gets fried?? If it is fried, any ideas on what happened since (supposedly), the flash utility completed without a problem?

I appreciate any insight -- this machine is somewhat critical...

Thanks,

Try disconnecting the atx cable from the mobo, & pull the battery, wait about a minute, put the battery in/ atx connector, and plug in the supply cable to the ps,( you did remove that first ). Sounds like it should go/ with some boards you may need to press the insert key at boot/ you may need to do this several times, Hope it works out for you.
