Asus P3v4x and a Delta Fan......

i heard about what a power hog the delta is. will my mobo handle the fan? or would i need the 3 to 4 pin connector? apparently the delta sucks too much electricity that it blows out the power headers on some mobos. the mobo simply cannot give out htat much power. anyone have this kinda setup?

I had a P3V4X as well as a Delta Fan running off of one of the 3-pin heads on the board and no problems.

It works, but the fan won't be spinning at maximum because the motherboard can't supply enough juice. Use a 3 to 4 pin adapter to run the Delta like it should be run.
