Asus p3b-f supports 1ghz p3?

I currently own an Asus p3b-f coupled with a celeron 366.

In the bios, you can increase the fsb to 150 (with many increments inbetween), however on the asus page, it doesn't mention anything about supporting 100+ fsb speeds.

If i were to buy a p3 1ghz processor (which i need to do by this friday) would i be able to use it with this motherboard @133 fsb? (i'm also buying pc133 ram)

Yes, the P3B-F will support the P3-1GHz, so long as you have the latest BIOS update. All revisions of the P3B-F do not have voltage problems related to older revisions of the P2B. The P2B family of boards were completely different anyway.

The latest BIOSes are Version 1006 Final and Version 1007 Beta 001. I'd go with 1007 Beta 001.

The 1GHz Pentium III is available as both a 100MHz FSB part and a 133MHz FSB part.

If you decide to purchase the 133MHz FSB version, due to the lack of 1/2 AGP divider on the BX chipset, you will be running the AGP slot out of spec at 89MHz. PCI will run at 33MHz, so nothing to worry about there.

i'll take my chances with a 89mhz gf2pro (might be a nice little speed boost)

pity about the lack of a 1/2 or 1/3 agp divider on the board - wonder if any software, or adapter out there, is capable of doing it.
