Asus P3B-F - Probe/MBM Reports Wrong CPU Temp - Why??

Probe reports my cpu temp to be about 4-7 degrees C lower than my motherboard temp. I tried MBM and the numbers are about the same. If I shut down and check the bios, the temp readings seem about right. The strange thing is that if I read the temp using Sandra 2000, the temps values match the bios temp values. I don't get it, why can Sandra make a program that reads the temps properly but both Asus Probe and MBM don't work properly? I tried to download the new Probe update from Asus but when I try to install it my system hangs. How do I get this system to report my temps properly? Any help is appreciated.

PS: I am running both Win98 and Win2k as a dual boot but I only checked the temps using Win98 if that matters. Temp sensor is Intel diode inside the chip.

If I remember well, I needed to upgrade the bios on my early rev P3B-F to solve this problem. I did not bother. If you have bios 1004 or earlier, just go to the ASUS support site and download a later bios.
