Asus P3B-F issue with 2x multiplier

I have an Asus P3B-F in preparation for upgrading the proc I am in the process of testing how high I can stably run the FSB. Since I have a P2 266 (did I mention I really need a new proc?) I am using the lowest multiplier I can, 2x. Currently it is running fine at 133x2.5, however when I try and set it to 2x (should give 266 for which it is rated) WCPUID reports a 48 MHz bus with a 5.5 multiplier!? Also the L2 cache dosn't register. At first I thought this might be a WCPUID bug, however the performance of the machine really stank, I have also run into the same problem trying other FSB settings over 120 MHz with the 2x multiplier. I have BIOS revision 1006, looking at previous postings I saw 1007b and will try it presently... can the board even run a 48 MHz bus!??? Whats going on???
