Asus P3B-F + Celeron 1.1 + Asus S370 rev. 1.01 slotket = no boot

I have an Asus P3B-F motherboard rev. 1.04 with bios 1008.004 (the beta version) and a retail celeron 1.1G (the regular one, not the 1.1A tualatin based one) using an Asus S370 slotket that says rev. 1.01 (and thus assumed to be a S370-L rev. 1.01, but I'm not positive).

The board runs perfectly with a 550 slot 1 p3 and won't boot at all with the 1.1 Celeron/slotket. The motherboard is set to autodetect settings and I have tried "cpu default" and 1.8 volt settings on the slotket. The drives and fans spin up, but no beeps and no video signal to the monitor. I've tried reseating slotket, memory, and video card with no luck.

What have I overlooked? Thanks.

I think this board only goes up to 600 with 100 FSB... and 500 with 66 FSB. Your celeron 1.1G is just too much for it to take.

Did you just flash the Bios,
or has it been running awhile with this version?
Maybe if you put the 550 back in and loaded the "bios defaults"
again.
😕

The bios was flashed recently, then I booted with the 550 still installed to make sure it worked and has worked with that processor since then. I did go into the bios and select "load and save defaults" prior to trying to install the new processor.

There is a problem with the latest BIOSes for the P2B series of boards and the 1.1GHz processors, but I have not heard of this affecting P3B-F boards.

Does the slotket have a jumper for ppga/fcpga cpu type selection? If it does, have you checked to make sure that fcpga is selected(jumpered)? Just noticed that it hasn't been mentioned yet as a possibility.

The slotket has no such cpu type selection, though trying a new slotket will probably be my next step.
