hi, im trying to hook up my sampler (a musical instrument) to my scsi card. the sampler has an old DB25 port on it. so i got a cable with DB25>HD68 connectors on it. but it just wont work... the comp doesnt recognize the sampler at all. I was told i should hook it up to the SE 50 pin port on the motherboard, but how?? is there a converter thatll get my DB25 connected to the 50-pin flat cable connectors inside? plz help me out... thanx

Are you connecting the SCSI external connector to the SE 68 pins or U2 68 Pins? Make sure it's on the SE 68 pins.

the 2 68 pin ports are labeled Ultra 2 and Ultra Wide. i use the ultra2 port cause according to the manual, the ultra wide port is always terminated, so i can only use it for internal stuff. the internal flat cable that came with the mother board even has a terminator plate in the end. ive tried connecting the external device to the UW port, but then the comp wont start up, when it reaches SCSI bios it theres some message about "fail to respond to inquiry"

i think i have to connect it to the SE 50-pin port... are there any such converters`?
