i have an asus p2b-f motherboard. will it take a p3 800 or larger. thanks

From what I see only a P3-600 is legitimately supported. But from what I know as fact, a P3-800 with 100mhz FSB ONLY will work, if you set the jumpers correctly and make sure that the latest BIOS has been updated on the motherboard.

according to similar post responded to by AndyHui,

basically, you can go up to and beyond 1 ghz. Multipliers are irrelevent on clock locked Intel processors because they ignore motherboard multiplier settings. As long as you have FSB support and stepping support in the BIOS, it is fine.
