Asus P2B-F w/ Celeron 566@850 1.8v and latest BIOS
Windows 2000

When I shutdown the PC restarts instead of actually shutting down. This happens in linux too. Sometimes when I try to start the PC it won't start up properly... I'll have to unplug it, wait a minute, plug it back in and up it goes. I'll try a new power supply ASAP but are power problems common with this motherboard?

It's not necessarily a power supply issue. Odd problems starting and shutting down do seem to crop up now and again on the P2B-F under Windows 2000....

Are you using BIOS version 1013 Beta 007?

No, I'll try that... Oddly enough it shut down properly last night - powered off and everything. Of course when you try to start it right away it won't do it. Even turning off the juice to the power supply for a couple seconds doesn't help. You have to disconnect juice for 30+ seconds or disconnect juice, hit power button a couple times, and then reconnect juice and hit power. Oddly enough when you connect power and it is ready to start up it will always start up and then stop right away (without hitting the power button but when the juice is turned on to the power supply).

I'll try that BIOS and see if everything works out... Thank you :).
