Wondering what setting everyone is using for "phase control" and what exactly are the implications of the different settings? I was at standard and changed it to optomized. I noticed approx 10w drop in idle power consumption going to optomized. Power draw at load was unchanged.

I don't know how the settings are labeled in your bios, but as I understand it one setting will force each phase in sequence to reach 100% capacity before activating the next phase in sequence. That setting will save electricity. The other setting will activate all phases using the least possible power per phase for greater stability. That setting will waste some electricity, but will allow greater ability to overclock.

Makes sense, thanks for the explanation. Haven't noticed any stability issues with optomized settings so I think i'll leave it here and save the 10watts.

the phase control should be set to asus optimized.

However, the Duty Control, should be set to extreme.

the T-probe uses temperature probes to set duty, which are inaccurate and unreliable over time.

Also, this link may help you greatly, as it has helped me.

also, make sure to decrease CPU pll voltage to 1.65-1.7

Ya man, just grab a jar of pickles and you should be fine. If it catches fire dont worry, thats normal.
