MSI=better oc'er Asus=more stable MSI's boards across the board are not as consistent as Asus, but you can't go wrong with either in my opinion. Have you looked at the Epox? Many good things to read on these boards!

I just bought the Asus board. Rock steady, no problems and everything worked the first time I turned it on. No need to flash the bios or anything.

My boss just got the MSI board. It took 5 hours to get the bios set up (it kept crashing halfway through) and was up 6 hours before it fried.

It's your choice but of all the s939 boards out there it looks like the MSI seems to have the most problems. If your not buying right away you might want to hold out for the DFI board. They have a good record for being solid, highly OC'able boards. I think they are supposed to be out in Q1 of 2005.

I'd suggest buying a motherboard combo from a seller than actually puts a CPU/HS in, with some memory, latest BIOS, and turns the thing on. In theory, this should increase your odds of getting a functional board. I know I was VERY leery of buying a MSI Neo2 Platinum, due to all the problems I've seen, but it worked out fine. Got mine from Monarch Computers as a combo with a A64 3500 90nm, and all has been well.

You also have to figure that your ATI card is AGP and so will not work in the A8N since it is a PCI Express based board.

Check out the EPoX board man. It's a little combination of both the MSI and ASUS.
