....423 or 478....so many choices. What do you think and recommend.

I assume for P4? Go Socket 478+850. S478 ensures future Northwood compatibility, and 850 is the highest performing P4 chipset, and is very stable. The onyl S478 850 board is Abit TH7II-RAID, but if u don't want to oc, I'd wait for Asus P4T-E.

The Intel D850MDL/MVL boards are s478 and have been available since the s478 launch. They do not offer overclocking but have excellent performance, stability, and support. Also if you want to save money the Shuttle AV40 with DDR is a great board and offers at least 95% of the performance of RDRAM systems.
