Question ASUS Nitropath tech supposed to become an open standard in future in about a year

I think this is really good news. Didn't know ASUS had it in them to do good for the enthusiast community on such a level. Very commendable.

From the transcript:

the cool thing is also that

this won't stay an Asus exclusive

feature if I understood it correctly

they developed it together with the slot

manufacturer I think it was Lotus and

now it will be exclusive for Asus for

like a year and afterwards it's going to

be an open standard and everybody can

make use of that so I'm pretty sure we

will also find it on like MSI gigabyte

or like an ASRock motherboard and that

should definitely help memory clocking

in the future but yeah I just wanted to

cover this because I I

underestimated how yeah problematic just

the empty memory slot could be

Is it known what exactly it does?
It basically reduces noise on the traces for unused dimm slots.
So it should benefit overclockers who only populate 2 of 4 slots, in theory, but is unlikely to make much difference if all 4 slots are populated.
