ASUS N6800GT SLI READY?

I just noticed that on N6800GT's page on asus' website, it says its SLI ready. However, it doesnt feature on the asus a8n-sli deluxe sli qvga list, nor does it feature on nvidia's sli compatible products list. Anyone using these cards in SLi?? Im planning to buy them for sli reasons only....

thanks a lot for letting me know this... i had been visiting this website for the past fortnight everyday.. finally they added asus 6888gt to it... I wonder if its because I sent ASUS like 4 or 5 emails from different email addresses asking this...

All 6600GT's and all 6800 series cards support SLI. 6600's and below do not.

Not appearing on a certified list doesn't mean they won't run in SLI, just that no one has bothered to test them. The SLI connector is pretty obvious on the card as well.

The only exception I know of is that some 6800GTO cards may not work in SLI even though they have the connector. Those cards are kind rare though, I think.

I am using an ASUS A8N-SLI Deluxe motherboard. Dont you think I should not use a card in sli if its not tested to do SLI with it? I meansome cards may/may not work with a motherboard, and the mboard's manufacturer knows best....??

hey McArra, sorry to say this, but u shud check this out>>
http://www.asus.com/products4.aspx?modelmenu=15&model=375&l1=3&l2=15&l3=0 ( no asus en6800gt!!!)

Funny that a product they themselves havnt listed on their site (6800 ULTRA) features on this QVGA list, and not the one that is listed (6800GT)... weird company!!!

It should work since everybody uses the same design in their cards, the only difference being the colour of the PCB and the cooler. The difference with Asus is that the 6800GT uses the ultra PCB, that's all so it should work no problems. My card isn't tested with my MoBo but it works great... I think that's good example...

I think you are correct to a great extent, but dont you think that the A8N-SLI being a new technology mboard, I should take such a precaution?? I mean im buying the gt coz the ultra isnt priced according to its performance lead to the gt... its like 25% more expensive than the gt, and just about 6%(max) faster than gt... I want to do sli with two gts sometime down the road... but if the gt doesnt do sli well, i should buy ultra instead which IS TESTED WITH SLI?
