But you already have the board you're looking to replace. How is that going to save you money?

I get the impression he's putting together a build. If that's the case, I think the P8B75-M LE would likely be fine for a basic system.

What do you think of this Asus P8Z68-V LX with the I5-3550 ?

Is it a good motherboard ?

What is the difference between Z68 and Z77 ?

Thank-you !

Z77 is newer and better and cost difference is negligible to non-existant. Go with the 77

I used to go through this nit-picky exercise in the '90s.

I'd look through Computer Shopper and other sources, just pick the cheapest board I could find, and build the computer.

It depends on what you want to do with it. I've even over-clocked some low-end Gigabyte LGA-775 boards -- brand-new mATX boards at $85 each. They're still running strong as I speak.

I love my Z68 board -- P8Z68-V Pro. But if I were building this year, I'd get a Z77 board -- probably ASUS. There are a range of offerings at different prices, varying by features, number of PCI/PCI-E slots and so forth. There are Z77 mATX boards available.

The P8B75-M doesn't exactly have stellar "customer-reviews," although the latter have never been touted as the most reliable information. I could see how I might buy a board like that, if I were building a machine for a family member for web-surfing and mainstream computing tasks, but I'd look a bit more closely at that board against others before shelling out the $80 bucks . . . I think . . .
