I have a T-bird 1.2 Ghz proccessor and I now need a motherboard. I was going to get an ASUS and was thinking about the ASUS A7A266. I don't know which type of RAM to use because it is DDR SDRAM. I want to know if this sounds good and what type of RAM or if there is something else I can do. Thanks.

The A7A266 motherboard can use both normal SDRAM and DDR SDRAM (although not at the same time).

It's probably not the best choice if you want top performance, since the ALi chipset is somewhat slow in comparison with the AMD 760 chipset and the VIA KT266 chipset.

If you want to buy DDR SDRAM for your system, I would recommend you purchase either the ASUS A7M266 or the A7V266.

I have listed two motherboards there.....you should have a look at the ones that I mentioned.

For stability+Performance, MSI K7 Master. For Ocing, EPoX 8K7A+, for decent ocing+perf, Abit KG7-RAID.

Ordinarily I'm no big fan of Tom's Hardware, but I was reasonably impressed with their conclusions in the recent AMD 761 chipset mboard shootout. I'd say to go have a look at their winners.
