Asus Monitor HDMI/DVI No Signal

Hi all,

I have an ASUS ve248h 23" monitor and tried using HDMI as well as DVI input on a brand new build to only get: "No HDMI Signal"--"No DVI Signal" (of course, both were not plugged in at the same time).

I tried to toggle between input selections on the Asus (VGA, DVI, HDMI etc...) to no avail. I have the HDMI cable plugged into my video card (HIS Ice q 7870) and I always power on the ASUS before the PC.

The fan on video card is working, both power cables are plugged into the PSU, and my PC seems to be working (I just can't get past the "No Signal" to see anything).

Motherboard: AsRock Z77 OC Formula
Video Card: HIS Ice Q 7870
CPU: i7 3770k
RAM: G.Skill Ripjaws X 16GB
PSU: OCZ 850W Gold
Monitor: ASUS VE248H 23"

If you need any other info, I'd be glad to provide it....

I'm totally stuck and don't know what else I can try. I'm hoping one of you can please help me out.....sucks having a new build just sitting and waiting with no where to go......🙁

Happy 4th of July!! 🙂🙂

do you have a speaker installed? Try booting up without any RAM, and see if it beeps at you. If it does, then the CPU is init ok. If it doesn't, something more serious might be wrong.

Do you have another computer or laptop to test the monitor with? Alternatively, do you have another monitor to test the computer with?

My bet is that the computer is not actually working. Fans and lights coming on does not indicate very much.
