Everything was fine up until a few weeks ago.

I don't know exactly what happened, but my IBM Deskstar 60GXP 60Gig drive failed, I RMAed it, and in the meantime bought a 40Gig 60GXP to run my system while I wait for my 60Gig to return, but even now, this system is starting to lock like crazy and processes sometimes are taking anywhere up to a minute to open something as small as Winamp!

Usually when I open IE and open my Favorites, it takes 20 seconds for the link I click on to actually open, and in that interim I pretty much loose control over the option to even do anything else while waiting, just because while it's performing that process, it all locks up.

Now this machine is custom-built, I didn't have any of these problems until after my 60Gig 60GXP started to fail, but they've carried over to the 40Gig, does anybody have any ideas??

Does this sound instead like something SDRAM related? Power supply? I can't figure it out and it's really starting to bug me...

here are the basic specs:
AMD TBird 1.2 @ 266 @ 1.84V
512 (2x256) Mb Crucial PC133 CAL2 SDRAM
ASUS A7V133 running VIA 4-in-1 drivers most recent update
IBM 40Gig 60GXP HDD
350W power supply
Sound Blaster Live Platinum 5.1
VisionTek GeForce3
DVD-ROM, CDRW, Linksys NIC, all that other stuff...

any advice/suggestions for patches/updates/etc would be greatly appreciated!
