Hey Guys i have an Asus® A7N8X-E Deluxe and i would like to know if i connect 2 sata hd in raid 0 if i can use a hd on primary ide connector as storage, any special configuration ? thanks

When you install Windows unplug the IDE drive to avoid Windows installing on it. Once you are done you can plug the IDE drive back in again and do whatever you want with it. Also, make sure that in the BIOS you have set the SATA to boot before IDE.

can't i just disable the ide in the bios ? thanks

reread his statement..master pata ide nothing on it til you've configured your sata RAID..then it will be ok to use the pata ide for storage drives..gl

Just install with storage drive not hooked up. Then hook it up after XP is installed. Go into drive management and add the drive.

I have 2 Raptors in a SATA raid with my Maxtor 60 gig stand alone as a primary master IDE. I have my OS directed into my raid setup however, so in order to install windows what you have to do is go download the drivers from www.asus.com for the sataraid, take just the primary *.inf files and save them to a floppy, press F6 on the first few steps of installing windows and that will tell Windows to use those drivers on your floppy disk for your raid "controller", otherwise windows wont see any HD other then the primary IDE
