ASUS MeMo Pad 7 and 8

ASUS has made two new MeMo Pad tablets, a 7 and 8 inch model. And going with the tradition that bigger size equals better specs, the 7 inch model is completely forgettable while the 8 inch model actually looks pretty good.

ASUS touts the MeMo Pad 8 as the lightest 8 inch tablet at 299 grams (0.66 pounds). It has rear facing speakers and a glossy plastic back that comes in pink, white, and blue (why no black?), arriving June 6 in Taiwan and not mention of availability elsewhere yet.

Too bad the Fonepad 8 doesn't share that 1920x1200 panel, a quality mid-size tablet that can legitimately make calls over cell towers (read: will count as a phone for T-Mobile unlimited data plan purposes) might be the only thing that could convince me to switch from a Moto X.

If it's anything like their memo HD series it will be crap. I have the memo hd 7" and regretted buying it.
