Asus MB Warranty

I have an Asus P5B-E MB about 6 month old. Lately I have mysterious crashes on my system. After an extensive diagnostic, I have determined that the chipset on the MB was defective. My question is "Does anybody know the US telephone number for a RMA request or a web site link that I can access?".

I have been to Asus site and about warranty it claims that MB are warrantied for 3 years, but to call your resellers for repairs (my reseller is Newegg). After a fruitless look around I gave up.

If you have experience dealing with Asus please share your story. I already bought another MB, but I could use another MB for my kids' system.

Thanks,

RMA Support:
E-mail: rma@asus.com
Tel: 510-739-3777
Fax: 510-608-4511

I emailed them about my 1year old P5B-Dlx and told them I had a bad flash that rendered the board inoperable. They asked me to provide the serial number, exact model, and issues I experienced along with anything I have tried to remedy the problem in an email along with my name, address, and phone number. Then a few days later they gave me an RMA number with instructions on where and how to ship it back. In about 2 weeks I had a brand new Motherboard in the retail box with all the cables etc. They only took back my bare motherboard.

Basically do it like this...provide the model, serial number, and explain the issues you have with the board. Tell them you would like to setup an RMA if it's possible. They will get back to you pretty quickly. I had no trouble.

Their site seems confusing because many people buy OEM systems using asus components and all warranties are handled through the retailer. If you bought the board alone at a retail location or website they will handle the RMA directly.

Really appreciated your help. I never had any experience with Asus (or anything else concerning warranty) before and am disappointed the instructions on the Asus site were so murky to say the least.

Thanks again,

My email to RMA@ASUS.COM

"Lately, I have been having frequent crashes (system just froze while doing
some work) on my Intel E6600 Core 2 Duo system. Everything running at stock setting , no OC.

I have done extensive diagnostics including the following:

1. Reinstalling Windows XP Professional with all the updates, SP2 and all
new updates.
2. Replaced video cards, Gigabyte GE6600GT and EVGA 7900GT PCI-E
3. Replaced memory, 2x1GB PC6400 DDR2, G.Skill HZ and Crucial Ballistix
4. Replaced Power Supply CoolerMaster 600W with Corsair HX620
5. Installed latest BIOS

I finally pinpointed the problem as a chipset problem on the motherboard. I have bought another motherboard and everything is now working as it should be.

I would like to request a RMA of the board. I still have the original box,
manual and CD and receipt from Newegg. I would appreciate your help in this
matter.

Thank you.

Sincerely yours,"

May be Asus changed their RMA process since cmdrdredd's experience. I don't think whoever replied even read my email.

You can't find Newegg.com? What part of 'obtain RMA service through your reseller' was so confusing?

Here is Newegg.com's website > Newegg.com

It really doesn`t matter if they read your e-mail at all!!
What matters is you got a reply and were told what to do!!
So do it...lol
