Dear folk

First issue

Yesterday I built a new computer with ASUS MB model prime H270-PRO and installed windows 7 ultimate 64 -bit

Initially I faced a problem USB KB and mouse couldn't be recognized during windows installation although they were hooked into USB 2 (black color port ) replaced them with other KB and mouse still didn't work.

But they were working in UEFI BIOS.

What I did used PS2 KB and mouse finished windows installation and used USB KB and mouse still no joy then installed only chip set driver from MB's CD and USB KB and mouse worked

What could be the cause for the issue ? to avoid it in future ?

Second issue
Can't install VGA driver PRIME H270-PRO

I downloaded all windows updates yes all nothing left and whenever I install VGA driver from the MB CD and from ASUS website still the system complain with the below message :
The computer doesn't meet the minimum requirement for installing the software

Attached is the device manage snapshot showing VGA name

Next time, do your homework, buddy.

Win7 64-bit does not support XHCI controllers natively. Only EHCI. Intel's controllers on Skylake / KabyLake chipsets, are ALL XHCI, and not EHCI backwards-compatible in hardware.

Therefore, Win7's installer cannot see the USB ports properly, until the Intel USB3.0 driver is installed.

Second, there is no official support for Kaby Lake's iGPU on Windows 7 64-bit. There exist some beta drivers, with some problems, that you can find on the internet and shoe-horn in with some minor problems, but that probably as good as it gets.

Also, you won't be able to use Windows Update in Win7 with Kaby Lake. MS disables it if you have Kaby Lake.

Is there some reason why you can't / don't want to use Win10?

You don't need to be a champion and showing your muscle that you know everything.
If you want to help do it in the proper way.

There is no proper way to help someone install a hacked windows 7 ultimate 64 -bit on a new system. It doesn't work properly & never will!

Sorry. I didn't mean that in such a negative way. Only I was trying to point out that this issue, no USB support in Windows 7 on modern platforms (Skylake, Kaby Lake, Coffee Lake, and I think Ryzen/AM4), is pretty-well documented.

In the olden days, we would have used "RTFM".

But seriously, maybe search will bring it up, I've explained how to deal with this situation at least 4-5 times. Search for "Windows 7 USB3 PS/2 emulation".

My recommendation is to use Windows 10, or a modern Linux distro if that won't work or you don't like it. Now, there may be some unofficial drivers or work-arounds, but I don't really know of any, and I would not recommend them unless one really wants to fiddle with it for the sake of fiddling. I am open to someone trying to help with this, but success may be limited if at all.
