Hi All,

I decided to build a new PC after my Core i3 - 540 and X1800XL was really not able to cope.
Been on the console gaming side for a while. :)

I picked up the below components:

Intel Core i7 6700K
Asus Maximus VIII Ranger
Corsair H100i GTX Liquid CPU Cooler
Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 2133MHz
MSI R9 390
Seasonic 80 Plus Bronze Certified - 750 Watt
3TB Seagate hard drive
Corsair Graphite Series 780T Full-Tower
Windows 7 X64 Pro SP1

Previous items used:
Samsung 850 Evo Series 2.5" SSD - 250GB

After loading the latest drivers and updating the BIOS.
I have picked up the below issue.

If the asmedia xhci 1.1 controller is enabled, the PC will not sleep.
If i press the sleep shortcut on my keyboard, the PC screen goes off but the PC continues to run.
Clicking on the mouse or pressing any key on the keyboard does nothing.
Eventually it crashes.

If i disable the controller, the PC sleeps perfectly as expected.
I have tried the latest drivers and some older ones.
The issue persists.

I would ignore the controller and leave it disable but its very disturbing as this PC is NEW.
Gaming works flawlessly, I run a Plex server and that works perfect as well, any ideas how to solve that controller issue?

Asmedia controllers have always been about a cheap way for manufacturers to claim a spec. I really don't know why Asus did it this way, especially for a high end board like that one.

I doubt anything is "wrong" with the board. But you may want to take another run through the BIOS, and make sure you are running the latest BIOS, for your board.

If it still doesn't work, and you are within a return period, swap it for a board with the Intel Thunderbolt chip, like this one:
