Asus Maximus II Formula

Could anyone help me locate a place to purchase this board online? Either that, or one that replaces it (and no, I'm not looking to get rid of my Core 2 system in favor of an i7 right now)

It needs to be either that board, or an equivalent with a P45 chipset, and a 10R (need the RAID) IO controller for DDR2 - should be a high end board as overclocking will be required.

Did you try on ebay ?


I am just building my new setup with used parts too.
GIGABYTE GA-EP35C-DS3R + Q6600 + HD5770 + 2X1 GB DDRII

Even if I got most parts from ebay , I picked up my motherboard,
from an local computer parts company , that had it as used with 6 months warranty.

And the Video card New from Germany , with 2 years warranty.

I will advice you to do some local phones for an used motherboard,
its not worth it, to risk by getting something from ebay .

I got an used Asrock motherboard , and it was half damaged, it was working with single core , but it was unable to work with dual and quads.
The seller was not aware of that ... for him it was an working one,
for me it is an 40$ loss of money .
That it will end up at the recycling bin .

Thanks for the reply. I did try on ebay and it seems no one has one. The only one I found online was new from Australia, but very expensive. More expensive then it was when it first came to market.

I'm trying to build with only new parts - I purchased a new Xeon X3370, and am giving my old parts away to a family member. So I'd rather not purchase a used part in which I have no idea who used it.

From the reviews that I had read about Asus Maximus II Formula,
it was just an overpriced version , that it did not had any extra performance,
compared to similar designs , so to justify the price ...

Arg - can't find any of the top-tier boards online with P45 + ICH10r. The only one in stock is that P5Q Pro Turbo. I wonder if the Aestheros lan is any good on it

The worst LAN card today , it can deliver the 75% of bandwidth , that the faster INTEL 1000 Mbits chip can supply ..
And so, there is no need to worry about that.
