ASUS MAXIMUS FORMULA

I'm a complete noob at all this...so I need some good suggestions here.

I just recently built my first computer. I got the help of a friend to pick out parts, put them all together and everything is working just great!

Long story short..... I want a different motherboard, and I had my eye on the ASUS Maximus Formula. I have the Intel Q6600 Core 2 Quad Proc and was wondering if this will work with the Maximus.

The reason I ask is because the newegg.com specs say for the Maximus that the FSB will take a 1600/1333 and my proc is rated at 1066.

BUT the ASUS website says the Maximus will take 1333/1066/800.

So I'm confused. Can anyone help me out here?

Thanks a lot guys!

Welcome to AT Forums.

The Asus Maximus Forumula will fully support the Q6600. The Maximus can take 800/1066/1333/1600(Tentatively). Believe the manufacturer, not Newegg.
