Asus Maximus Formula: Are there any wc kits out there for it?

I have the non-SE version of the board, but I don't think that makes a difference as from what I've read people who watercool this board replace the stock watercooling setup anyway.

This would be my first watercooling venture. I've read quite a few guides and such, including the sticky on this board. I guess I'm just wondering if there are any kits specifically designed to be compatible with, or are preferred by users of, the Asus Maximus Formula. Right now I'm very interested in a Swiftech kit, but I haven't decided if I'm going to go with that or simply mix/match parts.

Check Petra's tech shop for some premade kits made with quality parts. The Swift kits aint bad per se but there is better for the price out there, whatever you do, dont get get anything made by the toy watercooling companies.

you watercool around what you want to accomplish, then arround what hardware you already have. Not the other way around 😛


The board does have an onboard block but thats optional. People replace that block because its not as efficient as a mcw30.


what is your budget? and are you an avid overclocker? or you just looking at silencing your entire system?

I'm a...'learning' overclocker😛 Looking to expand my horizons, as it were. I suppose 'novice' may be the correct word, but it just sounds so harsh🙂

Anyway, I'm basically looking for an overclocking edge, I think aircooling has brought me as far as I want to go with it. It's getting too noisy, and too heavy on the board. I keep imagining this horrible "crack" sound when I set the thing upright after working on it. Silence is an added plus, but isn't the most important feature I'm looking for. My main concerns are accessibility and ease-of-use, as this is my first time using watercooling, and performance. My budget is around $300.
