ASUS M50VM-B1 Questions

Hi there,

Just got a new laptop for xmas and have a couple questions!

#1 - I'm used to PerformanceXP (A very, very slim version of XP, maximized for performance) and instead I am confronted with this version of Vista with about 10 things in the system tray. Is it viable to install XP on this without anything becoming dysfunctional? If not, is there a version of Vista compareable to this?

#2 - Cooling! It feels like there's a fire on my crotch. What would you recommend to keep this baby cool? I would have to order something from ncix.com

So it seems this is a tough question =)

Haven't been able to find any minimalized vistas, nor whether or not I will be successful installing XP.

As for cooling choices, these seem to be my options:

i'd get the zalman one.
i would avoid the thermaltake one b/c if you have air vents on the bottom, that padding will block them
