ASUS M4A89TD pro/usb3 16GB RAM Issue?

Hi Geeks:
I built a system with M4A89TD Pro/USB3, Phenom II 965 and Kingston KHX 1600C9D3K2/8GX (2 X 4GB RAM). Everything was great until I decided to upgrade it to 18 GB by adding the same 2 X 4GB Kingston RAM. First I got a BSOD and then it'll never post. If I hit MemOK, I can boot to BIOS with all default settings- but when I make changes to BIOS, it won't post. Error LED blinks back and forth between CPU and RAM. I called ASUS Tech Support- it's a joke. They told that a second level tech will call me- but it has not happened yet!! I am very frustrated with this MoBo and ASUS support.

Please let me know your suggestions how to make this 16 GB RAM work. It'll work till 12GB...
Thanks in advance for your support

Did you test boot and Memtest86+ with both kits individually? Perhaps one of the sticks is bad?

Yes, memory units are perfectly fine. I have done many tests with Kingston Customer support too. The system boots in all the 4 sticks individually or in combination of 2 or 3. But it won't post with all the 4 in the slot. That's painful. It has something to do with the correct bios settings or I might have got a crappy mobo. That's where I am stuck.

I tried D.C.O.P and it takes 1600 with DRAM timings 9-9-9-27 1.65V with 2 sticks and then I added 2 more sticks- it will post, but show only 8GB RAM. Also tried 9-9-9-24 1.55V. Nothing works with fourth stick.

Any ideas? I am already frustrated with ASUS support.
Thanks for your help!!!

I run the M4A89TD PRO with 16gb DDR3 1333 Kingston Valueram and a Vertex 3 with no issues at all, have you upgraded to a more recent BIOS?

Yes, my BIOS version was 2001. I didn't get any results from that version-so I upgraded to 3017 (irrespective of it being a BETA and good only for AM3+).
What is your BIOS version?
Did you change the DRAM timings and config manually?
Did you change any BIOS settings?
I have four HDD running RAID 0.
Please share your BIOS settings if you manually configured it.
Thanks

I didnt changed dram timings manually in the BIOS, all was detected apropriatelly. i'm on BIOS 2001, make sure to reset CMOS properly and remove the battery for 5 mins.

I removed the battery after updating BIOS. Is there any other way to reset CMOS?
