Sorry if this is in the wrong forum but I think this is the right one for it.

Picked up 2 Caviar Blacks recently and through them in a raid 0 with no hitches. Just wondering now if there is any way to turn off the portion of my boot process where it searches for the raid drives. After the BIOS post I get a searching for drives....And it confirms the raid is healthy. Any way to turn this off or is this just something you have to deal with a raid?

Edit: Then after the raid rom check screen it go's to a black screen with a _ cursor flashing for like 6 minutes before it boots windows 7. Any idea's? Using windows 7 64

I'd suspect that the array got set as the boot device and windows is searching everywhere it can think of for a boot sector.

There are usually two settings, one to set hard drive and another to set which drive (that would not be the array).

You'd suspect right, just before I checked this I went back through my process and somehow it got changed. The raid was like 3rd down the list. Thanks. Still baffled on the searching for drives array screen. Says searching for drives, finds the drives and then says hit ctrl + f to enter raid settings screen.
